1. Why did you start blogging?

Probably not the main reason, but to change things up (since I’ve answered this question plenty of times), blogging is a way to practice having thoughts on things and expressing them. And I was an English major and I wanted to have “WordPress skills” and “writing samples” for job purposes at the time.

2. Coffee or tea?

Whichever, as long as with milk/cream and some sort of sweetener.

3. What are your hobbies?

I like to do many things but I’m not consistent at any of them. The last three activities I engaged in that I do semi-regularly are reading, singing, and taking a meandering walk.

4. What is/are the best thing(s) that happened in your life?

I am fortunate to live the life that I live, and it is quite impossible to single out a “best” thing or even a few best things. The most enjoyable thing that happened today was trying to decipher a French picture book with a precocious kid in the library, neither of us knowing any French.

5. What is your favourite movie?

Howl’s Moving Castle.

6. What are your pet peeves?

• People who take up more than half of the escalator and just stand there
• Birds making any sort of noise before 8 am
• Loud air conditioners
• Call centre representatives who repeatedly interrupt you to unnecessarily declare that they are there to help and that everything will be okay, while not listening to the actual problem
• Cafes with iPad tipping options that start higher than 15%

7. Do you have any books, movies, or shows to recommend? If so, what are they?

Three recent pieces of media that I enjoyed, the first for its candidness on a subject that is often heavy-handedly handled, the second for creeping me out (I am better than the average person at suspending disbelief), and the third for a refreshing cast and setting:

If you dislike your circumstances, change them; if you can’t change them, adapt to them.

Introvert.

I want to sleep better, please and thank you.
