About

Hi there~

Welcome to the moya-moya moratorium; feel free to stay for a while.

The feeling “moya-moya” seems to go hand-in-hand with a certain stage in developmental psychology, characterized by an identity crisis that Erik Erikson called a “moratorium.” As for “moya-moya” (もやもや), it’s a fun Japanese word meaning something along the lines of “hazy”, “fuzzy”, or “gloomy”.

If you wonder whether “moyatori” or “The Moyatorium” came first, the answer is the latter. “Moyatori” just sounded like the name of some pleasant little bird (`Θ´). Please call me Moya!

About me, I have a BA in English literature am currently finishing a master’s in Library and Information Studies. I love snow and build a snow sculpture every year. Like all the happy and ordinary people in the world, I cherish food and sleep, though I’m not very good at the latter.

  1. Hello Moya,

Your About Page is short but it still helped me to learn some things about you, which is impressive, which is better than my longer About Page; well done.

I remember back when About Pages used to be popular and when people used to comment on them often, now-a-days I do not even get one comment a year on mine, it has probably been almost three years since my last comment on mine. 😀

    Have a nice day,
    -John Jr

      1. You are welcome Moya, please feel free to give me some feedback on my About page, because it seriously needs improvement; and so feel free to share what you would recommend keeping, getting rid of, adding, editing, et cetera.

        Thank you,
        -John Jr

      2. I think your Above page is neat! If anything, perhaps you could separate your Above from your Contacts, so that people don’t assume your About page is just “Contacts” and fail to scroll down to the real content. Otherwise, I enjoyed the page!
