I’m very grateful to announce that this blog gathered 300 followers last week! The current follower count is at 307 (+3 email followers, don’t ask me how). Many many thanks, people, for reading my somewhat inconsistent content!
I totally should I did consider doing a Q&A, but I answer almost all the award tags that come my way, so I’m sure there’s no more information I have left to offer you.
I Tried Singing in English
I covered a song in Japanese for 200 followers, and Leap250 suggested that I do one of my own translyrics for 300. I decided to go with that, because Leap was also the one to request translyrics for the Kalafina song and Sora no Woto OP “Hikari no Senritsu”/”Melody of Light” many months ago, which I have since translyricized (I know, took me forever to get there).

I considered giving this post some cheesy title that fits “light” and “300” in the same sentence, but alas, I don’t think I can pull it off. I’ll sing my love to you though~ This summer seems to be particularly stressful for so many bloggers, myself included. Before I have to go on hiatus for my summer studies and stuff, please accept my sincerest wishes.
Moya’s unprofessional English cover:
Recorded…on my phone. I was pretty pissed about the fact that whoever arranged the karaoke version lowered the key and made everything very mid-range (a.k.a. Moya’s least favourite singing range). To play with it, I added a weird “reverb” effect that resulted in extra vibrato, and didn’t know how to undo it (R.I.P. my technology skills), but hey, at least the lyrics are a pretty decent translation.
As per usual with my translyrics (I haven’t done one in a long time), this one is about 90% faithful to the song’s themes/messages and 75% faithful in style/imagery.
Lyrics:
All of the light that spills from the sky
Is it reaching each weary chamber of your heart?
Once in a dream there drifted a tune
Droning soundlessly from afar
Even if you are far from that life you set out to construct
Never discard that memory of chords that somebody plucked
A song of feathers and blissful sighs
Played til all those fingers bled
By and by
Sound from heaven ringing high
Higher still, over your grief the tune will fly
Peering back at me as I search inside your eyes
Is the world, so grim and lonely in your mind
Neither tears nor tender lies
Bind you here, like strings attached to coloured kites
In the falling light I will sing to you once more
A song that guides tomorrow’s flight
To tell you a secret, the sound from the sky
Is a music that slips past ordinary ears
Yet, those beats you’ll hear them arise
In your heart for infinite years
Some Wednesday, a tired midnight
As you sigh underneath a streetlight
Lady Fortune may drop by, and kiss you a single time
One day you’ll see that your tears have dried
You’ll open your mouth and sing
To chords I can’t describe
Drumbeats have started to sound, so tirelessly
“Song of love,” everyone sings, so staunchly
And over that beautiful song
The sky blue notes ring, graciously
Singing for me and myself
Sometimes it feels a little bit empty and dull
I summon you in each of my lonesome tunes
Do you ever feel the pull?
Wherever you are today
What pain is I’ve started to learn
After placing my hand on the scar across your heart
Once in a dream there drifted a tune
Droning soundlessly from afar
Sound from heaven ringing high
Higher still, over your grief the tune will fly
That we are alive in this world until this day
Is a sign for us to laugh until the end
Neither smiles nor reveries
Bind you here like strings attached to coloured kites
In the fading light I will sing to you once more
A song that guides tomorrow’s flight
*I realized that I forgot to translyricize two stanzas when I was doing the cover. So I kinda just repeated the chorus.
*The original can be found here.
Thanks a ton for sticking around all this time. I will keep doing my best at blogging, or at least, trying to do my best~
The Honour Role
I thanked people by name last time, but now there are simply too many people to thank. I’ll make a list anyway…
Thanks to everyone who regularly reads my stuff. We all are selective to some extent when we go through our feed (aside from the few amazing people I know), and I’m honoured to have anyone read the content I produce.
Thanks to those who have ever dropped a comment on this blog! I looove comments. Arguments are very much welcome too.
Thanks to those whose blogs I always want to comment on! Sorry for getting too excited in comment sections sometimes, but it it means I’m totally in love with what you’re doing.
Thanks to anyone I’ve ever collaborated with! I always welcome a collab. Well, perhaps after this July, but I do welcome them.
Thanks to those who interact with me on Twitter and Discord. You’re all really cool people and I’m glad I got to make friends with you…
Thanks to those who Google all the right things and find my blog. I have no idea how it happened and I’m sure I disappoint you 95% of the time, but I hope at least 5% of you found my posts enjoyable.
Thanks to those who spoil me with the newest and funnest tags going around the blogging word. I may not get to all of those in time, but I appreciate every one.
Thanks to those who post consistent episode reviews and series previews. They’re super useful as references for my own reviewing and anime-watching.
Thanks to those who write stories on their blogs. I may not read all of your novel if it’s too long, but I love the fact that you do what you do. Keep it up, novelists!
Thanks to those who write inspirational posts. Some people set out to motivate, while others do so without realizing it. Emotional and/or personal posts are the type I find myself caring most about. Your stories may not always be positive in theme or cheerfully written, but how human you are and how you confront your vulnerabilities always makes me aspire to be the same.
Thanks to those who write conversationally on their blogs and people who fangirl/fanboy a lot in their posts. These posts are super entertaining to read and easy to engage in.
Thanks to those who write with sophisticated style and put as much effort into blogging as they would a dissertation thesis (at least, it seems like it to me). Your posts are so gorgeous I might die from envy, but I’ll totally stay alive to learn from them!
Thanks to anyone who read this post to the end. Thanks for hanging out at the Moyatorium!
Small Reminder:
If you would like to participate in the blogging community study I posted about last time, please feel free to follow this link:

Congrats Moya! 😀

Congrats! So true about google searches, especially when it says “unknown search term”. EdgyAnimeTeen’s Monogatari watch order post on EAT Monogatari probably gets 2-4 google hits a week which is pretty crazy to me, sometimes I suppose a post just lines up with what people are always looking for.

This was very beautiful and touching. Don’t know if anyone has ever told you this, but you really have a very beautifil singing voice. Thanks for such a great song as a thank you. But I am being rude here as I have not even said this yet (well not in this post anyway: Congratulations on such an epic achievement: after all the thank you’s you gave us: ket me give you one in return: thank you for being such an amazing writer and having such a truly fun blog. I will always return to it, and trust me…in a few months you will be reaching the 600 followers..and beyond! 🎉🎉🎉
(ps…no worries I promise I will fill in the questions in the document somewhere this week 😊).

Thanks, Rossiroad! It’s the OP of Sora no Woto, and it happens to be my favourite band, Kalafina. I didn’t watch the anime either, but I’ve heard many good things about it!

…
The song reminds me vaguely of Christmas music when it’s sung in English… just saying!

Hmm…that’s kinda true. Kalafina actually has a whole Christmas album, and it is a bit like that. Never thought of it that way before you mentioned!

^ You never do cease to amaze me with how you weave together these lines Moya (glad I requested this song for you to work on :p); doubly so hearing you sing ’em.
Congrats on 300 followers~!! I’m sure each and everyone of us would say we’re lucky to have the Moyatorium in the aniblogosphere.

Thank you, Shadow (would you like to be called that?)! I must admit that the translyricizing part was funner than the covering, but this was quite a different project from my usual posts.

Eh, either Shadow or Dark works for my name since I go by Shadowlight996 as my pen name for my book and Darklight996 for my more erotic stories. Sorry for going off topic there, but either name will do. 🙂 You have a gift for singing, I think! 🙂

Gyaaa…definitely don’t call it a gift! I’ll call you Shadow then, since that’s pretty much what I know you by. Thanks for stopping by~

No problem and I hope someday soon that sailor moon crossover I’m working on will be finished so you can read it. I’ve been down a lot with the heat and some blogger kept reposting my stories without my okay…
LikeLiked by 1 person
It sucks when that kind of plagiarism happens! If you aren’t doing it already, maybe you can add the line “first posted on Shadowlight’s Blog” or “copyright: Shadowlight” at the end of your posts.

Well, with each post showing how much of whatever story I’m working at that day, my clause is posted in the blog post before the story is pasted in. In bold writing it reads: “All original stories, characters posted and mentioned here are owned by me, please do not repost them without my expressed permission, thanks!!”, however the guy/girl links my post to their blog. I get they’re a reviewer and the link pingbacks to my blog, but you’d think they ask me for permission, huh?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yeah, that’s too bad… I hope that doesn’t continue happening to you.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Well, last time he or she reposted my crossover a week or so ago, I got heated and posted a message to them, and told you readers that no new progression previews will be posted. But one bad apple shouldn’t make you honest readers suffer, so I’ll continue posting progress, but after that heated post, the “reviewer” stopped pingbacking my work.

A good turnout, I guess. Anyways, it’s wonderful that you’ll continue posting!

Soooooo I once again find myself with nothing to say….
Oh yes. That was a very nice way of thanking us, but honestly thank you for the great content and amazing company! Looking forward to more interactions with you! (Collab maybe?)

COLLAB yessss! I’ve noticed that the only content I’ve been publishing these days is collabs, but that’s probably because collabs motivate me the most.
About time you drop the -san too? XD
