A big thank you to my friends Keiko, Mel, and It’s An Anime Thing, for nominating me for the Real Neat Blog Award! Sorry I took a whole month to get to it, but I do save the link to all the award posts I get tagged in! I enjoy answering your weird questions.

Keiko’s 7 Questions
This one’s borrowed from the last award post I did, but I thought it’d be fun so I’ll just pop it in again: Do you share your birthday with one of your favourite anime characters? (If you don’t know, use this link to check. It is in Japanese but its easy to navigate. The green box with the numbers are the months so that’s where you start. The days will appear once you choose your month and then you’ll get a list of characters.)
Oh, I share a birthday with Mashiro Nobuhiro from Bakuman. He’s alright, I guess.
What’s the most embarrassing thing you’ve done in public?
I have the urge to purr like a cat sometimes (don’t ask why), and I’ve accidentally done that on the bus before (multiple times). Thankfully, everybody wears earbuds these days and it’s no big deal. Even if they happen to have heard, they’re usually glad to pretend such an odd thing never happened.
What is your least favourite food?
All food is good food! Though I suppose I quite dislike avocados when they’re the central focus of any dish.
Do you have an allergy? If so, what of?
I used to have pretty serious cat allergies, but now it seems to be getting better. I love cats…
Do you like flowers? If so, which is your favourite?
I like dandelions, white lilies, and am fond of the mimosa pudica, also know as shameplant, shygrass, or the sensitive plant. A peculiar thing that shrinks when you touch it. They grew from cracks in the sidewalk when I was in Taiwan, and I used to find them super relatable.
Which do you prefer: sweet or sour?
Sweet! No contest.
Are you a coffee or a tea person?
Either, with sugar and cream added. My sleep gets badly affected by both in the afternoon, so I don’t really drink either. Tea, maybe. I am a bit better at appreciating tea.
Mel’s 7 Questions
If You could live in another country than your own, which will it be?
I don’t know. If fantasy lands are an option, I have many choices. I do like Canada though! I may want to live on Vancouver Island – things seem permanently chill there.
If you could meet any historical characters, who will it be?
I said Frédéric Chopin last time, didn’t I? Hmm…who else. Sigmund Freud. I’d like to lie on his comfy couch and experience a psychoanalysis session.
Bath or Shower?
I love baths! I only have them a few times a year though. Only to reward myself after a very important day.
If you were stuck in the last book you read, would you made it to the last page?
Oh I love these questions, since you can have a different answer each time! My last read was The Awakening by Kate Chopin. Nothing supernatural happens; I think I’d fit in well enough. I am not very vocal about my opinions and am good at conforming to societal standards, so I’ll probably live a relatively subdued life and appear as one of the boring vacationers on the island.
If you could travel on any other planet, which one will you visit?
Jupiter used to be my favourite planet. Now I have no preferences.
From all the anime critters, familiar, pets, you saw which one would you like to own?
Doraemon is always the answer. I’d exploit his pocket.
Base on visual only, which is you favorite anime/manga?
Oyasumi Punpun. The visuals alone had tons of impact on me.
Josie’s 7 Questions
Which anime would you choose to live in if you had the chance? (I know, how original)
Inuyasha! I don’t know why that’s the first to come to mind. On second thought, the youkai would probably get me…
Describe your dream life! (Not really a question but a general wondering)
I live in a small house/apartment with good lighting and an excellent kitchen. I am married with three kids, and am working from home.
Pretend you’re in Alice in Wonderland! Which character will you be and what will you do?
I’d be…Alice? Everyone else feels kind of messed up in some way. Alice is the one who gets to experience everything from a sane (arguably?) perspective. Wait, if I’m Alice and I’m self-aware, that would mean I’m lucid-dreaming. I’d make sure things go my own way then. Hold a trial for the Queen of Hearts instead?

Would you time-travel 10 years back or 10 years to the future?
10 years into the past. I would like to make useful changes.
When in this timeline, what will you do?
This timeline as in the timeline I chose in the last question? Ah, you just have to know, don’t you? Nothing drastic, I don’t think. Take different electives and try to have a more fulfilling elementary/high school life. Don’t waste time.
Would you talk to your older/younger self? What will you be talking about?
Oh wait, I thought I got a chance to relive my life, but I apparently don’t. 😦 I don’t particularly like my younger self. She’s an egotistical brat, like some brats are. Perhaps a good slap would do?
What is something you’re hoping to accomplish this year?
Too many things. I get depressed when I think about all the things I want to do and how little time I have. Um, get a summer job, I guess. A cool one.
7 Questions to My Nominees
- When you get bored at work or in class, what do you do to pass the time?
- What’s your go-to insult?
- What song is really relatable to you (at the moment or just in general)?
- How do you feel about small talk?
- Do you have a recurring nightmare/dream? (The plot doesn’t have to be the same. General themes, formats, feelings?)
- When you have a nightmare about being chased, what’s your usual method of escape? (Do you fly/fall/leap/run/freeze? If you fly, I’m especially curious about how flying feels for you)
- Borrowed from my last award post: if you must murder someone, how would you commit the perfect murder?
Wow, this batch of questions is kind of dark. Oops…

Oh, cat allergies and love for cats? Sounds similar to Sakaki from Azumanga. Glad you got better.

I’m fairly new so I can’t nominate anyone yet since I don’t know much peeps.
So I’ll just answer the questions here!
1. I fidget a lot. Any cans, bottles or anything labeled near me gets peeled, and plastic bottles get crushed. Otherwise, I just tap my feet a lot.
2. no u
3. Watamote Theme Song
4. Not too big on it, I’d rather talk about dumb things instead of weather and homework.
5. Don’t like dreaming, they’re always terrifying.
6. Die.
7. Only way I could pull of a perfect, unsolved, murder is if I go to an uncharted island and jump off a cliff there onto a pool of sharks.

Yeah…the Watamote theme song! And yikes, that’s one intense way to die. Thanks for answering~

Oyasumi Punpun is one of the few manga to make me feel severely uncomfortable by art style alone…
Also, congrats!

You purr? My brother purrs, but openly and his college friends call it his special skill. How wild.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Glad to know I’m not alone. XD Doing it in front of friends is okay, but purring in a public space is not really fine, haha.

If I purred on the bus and someone heard me, I would look them straight in the eye and meow at them. I’ll probably never see them again anyways! 🐱😹😹

Ooh, that…might actually be a good idea! Perhaps I’ll shock someone. 😺

Do it!! I’ve definitely done silly things like this before (It’s even more hilarious when it backfires and you wind up running into the person again!! Lol!!) Let me know how it goes if you do it!!

Yup. Those aforementioned friends are musicians that I saw when they were on tour when they came to America. I’m based in the US as one can guess with the last statement, but I have multiple friends from Canada. The person who interviewed me recently is from Peterborough, Ontario, interestingly enough. Vancouver Island does look beautiful.

Oh yes, I gotta go listen to your interview! I’ll wait til I get home for that. It’s nice that you know so many people.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Sure thing. Let me know when you get to listen to it. I certainly had a fun interview and conversation. Thanks! It has been interesting being connected with various musicians around the world and eventually being a part of a great independent label. I have so many interests which shows up in all my blogs. Hahaha!
