This episode was quite different from the previous ones - a quieter than usual drama? I appreciated how the character of Megumi finally gets some attention, and thought the episode had many impressively realistic moments. In terms of personal enjoyment, however, I have to say that I preferred the previous episodes' energy. I found Megumi's… Continue reading [Highlights] Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho 05: Megumi’s Jealousy
Don't ask me why I finished Made in Abyss and not my English readings, but...well, since I finished it, I might as well talk about it. I started this blog with "10 Best Things" posts, which isn't really a problem because I only really finish anime that I enjoy. Sometimes I feel like it limits… Continue reading 10 Opinions on Made in Abyss
This episode is a bit of an individual story arc. It is also not a particularly impressive one, in my opinion. It relied on way too many tropes to tell this story. Needless to say though, it was as pretty as the previous ones in terms of execution, and I am still fairly pleased with the anime overall.
There's less hype in this episode than in some of the previous ones, but the quality felt pretty consistent. The episode also shows us that Yorimoi is a cute girls show that really attempts to ground its plot in reality. We get some insight into the girls' relationship with certain adult figures, as well as info sessions… Continue reading [Highlights] Sora yori mo Tooi Basho 04: A Glimpse of the Adults
Thanks to my friendo kingdylbag for nominating me. I'm trying to make it a goal to not have more than two award posts lined up now, so here it is (finally). Honestly, my blog isn't that mysterious and I'm not that much of a mystery either. I'm really bad at keeping any sort of secret… Continue reading Demystifying the Mysterious (An Award Post, Actually)
Still busy as hell...but still ended up watching Violet Evergarden. I will pay for this later. I don't think I was as wowed by this episode as the first, but this was definitely still a solid episode. Emerging feminism! Violet Evergarden does seem to reflect many historical truths. Taking all into account, this would be something like...the… Continue reading [Highlights] Violet Evergarden 02: Under Rain or Shine
I recall saying that I'd do episodic reviews. I tried...but life really sucks and I'm just super stressed about school and my internship right now. Instead, I'll do these shorter highlight posts to discuss some things that stood out to me during each episode. Visuals ahead. Ep. 2 I'm really digging the motif of texting… Continue reading [Highlights] Sora yori mo Tooi Basho Ep. 2 & 3: More Hype!
So some of you may recall me asking for readers for some articles I'm writing in my last post. I am very grateful for the large amount of kind people who volunteered to participate. My friend Perlem suggested that we could potentially create a sort of peer editing network, possibly through Twitter, as a place… Continue reading Can We Have a Peer Editing Twitter Group Chat?
*This is not an anime-related post, except for the pics So I mentioned some time ago that I started interning at an e-zine as an article-writer/editor. I'm working with these amazing people with remarkably talented writing, and sometimes it makes me feel a little under-qualified. The thing is, I don't have 100% faith in the… Continue reading Peer Editing, Anyone?
Finally, I've gotten around to reviewing all the first episodes on my watch list this season! This anime is really freakin' adorable, and now I just want to turn into a little person and live a blissful, tiny life. Story Plotless cuteness: there is plot in the sense that characters do have desires and encounter conflicts,… Continue reading [First Impression] Hakumei to Mikochi is the Cutest Thing I’ve Seen in 2018
